Offer Lecture Series
For Emerging Writers
New York/NYThe Council of Literary Magazines and Presses [clmp] and The New York Public Library present Periodically Speaking, a reading series providing a major new venue for emerging writers to present their work while emphasizing the diversity of literary magazines in New York City and the magazine collections of The New York Public Library. Each event presents writers from three influential literary magazinesone poet, one fiction writer, one nonfiction writerintroduced by their publishers/editors.

The Paris Review
In the inaugural issue, William Styron wrote, I think The Paris Review should welcome these people into its pages: the good writers and good poets, the non-drumbeaters and non-axe-grinders. So long as theyre good.

Writers can also join the group for the 7th annual Lit Mag Magathon Weekend, Saturday June 10. The Magathon is a reading by literary magazine editors at The New York Public Library, 5th Avenue and 42nd Street. This series is made possible in part by support from the New York State Council for the Arts, a state agency; and Friends of [clmp], a diverse group of individuals committed to supporting independent literary publishing.
