Lightning Source
Adds Cheaper U.S.
Shipping Option
LAVERGNE, TN/1/8/07—As smaller U.S. publishers struggle to make their products more cost competitive in a sluggish market, book distributor Lightning Source will lend a helping hand with the addition of a new book shipment option within the United States.
The company now offers Lightning Source Basic Shipping, a trackable and economically priced option for smaller and single unit, non-urgent packages.
Basic Shipping from Lightning Source offers financial advantages when shipping smaller quantities of books. The new option has been added to the shipping option drop down box on the Lightning Source website on January 8, 2006. Estimated delivery time for Basic Shipping averages 7-10 days for delivery.
The new option, however, is not a solution for international shipments or for large or urgent shipments. The company says its’ Commercial and/or Residential Ground Services typically become more cost effective for shipments greater than 8 -10 books, depending on the weight of the books and the location the books are being shipped to. For Lightning Source "rush" orders, express delivery options should continue to be selected.
