Publishes Entire

Book on the Web

New York, NY/02/06/06—HarperCollins Publishers announced that, for the first time, it is making the full text of a business book available on the web for free, on an ad supported basis. As of today, the full text of “Go It Alone! The Secret to Building a Successful Business on Your Own,” by Bruce Judson, will be available at the author’s Web site, www.BruceJudson.com. Each page of the book’s text will be indexed for search engines and accompanied by contextual ads served by major search companies. Additionally, the site will include a link to an online bookseller where consumers can buy a copy of the book.

“Our goal is to develop new digital products based on our books while creating new revenue streams for our authors,” said Brian Murray, Group President of HarperCollins Publishers. “We chose to offer “Go It Alone!” because Bruce Judson is a leader in Internet marketing and contextual advertising, and his book on entrepreneurship and outsourcing is a topic that will be of particular interest to the online community.”

“As part of our Publishing+ program, we are continually looking for ways to expand the services we provide to our authors,” said Jane Friedman, President and CEO of HarperCollins Publishers Worldwide. “We are convinced that the digital age creates new opportunities for publishers. We hope this pilot will demonstrate a win-win for publishers, authors and search engines. The new era does not need to be a zero sum game.”

“Go It Alone!” was published in hardcover at the end of 2004, and was named one of the best business books of the year, by Library Journal, for the year of its release. The paperback was recently released by the Collins imprint.

Judson, a senior faculty fellow at the Yale School of Management, is also a successful entrepreneur who was named by Advertising Age as one of the nation’s leading Internet marketers, in the magazine’s first ever list. Judson is also the author of the nationwide bestseller, “NetMarketing.”

“I am excited and honored that HarperCollins has chosen “Go It Alone!” for this pilot. This program will examine how online advertising programs can add value for publishers and authors,” said Judson.
