NEW YORK, NY (Authorlink News/1/8/09)-Hachette Livre, parent company to Grand Central in the USA, has taken controlling interest in Nina Salter’s Editions de Deux Terres. The line, founded in 2002, publishes literature translated into French. Among bestselling U.S. authors it publishes in French editions are Patricia Cornwell, Jeffery Deaver, and Ruth Rendell. The house also publishes Kiran Desai, Julia Glass and Kazuo Ishiguro.
Salter’s releases about a dozen titles per year. Hachette sees the acquisition as a way to strengthen its position in quality fiction and thrillers.
