Bookstore Sales
Continue to Drop
Census Report Says
6/18/2007–The U.S. Census Bureau today reported that bookstore sales declined for yet another month in April by 6% to a total of $909 million. It was the fourth consecutive decline in sales since the year began. Sluggish April sales followed a March decline of 6.8%. Sales from January through April this year total $5.10 billion, a decline for the first four months of 4.3%. In comparison, all retail sales were up for the first four months of the year by 3.8%.
