Annual Meeting

to Look to the Future

NEW YORK, NY/2/4/08– The Association of American Publishers will be focusing on The Future of Publishing at its annual meeting Wednesday March 5, 2008 at the Yale Club in New York City, covering a variety of concerns and interests from its 300 members.

AAP chairman Richard Sarnoff (Random House, Inc.), will give opening remarks, followed by a discussion about authors and retailers with Steve Riggio, chief executive officer or Barnes & Noble, Inc., and David Young of Hachette Book Group USA.

Afternoon sessions following the annual business meeting will be talks with Jack Romanos, former head of Simon & Schuster, interviewed by Walter Isaacson, CEO of the Aspen Institute; Amazon.com on All That Is Digital–Steve Kessel, senior vice president of Amazon.com Worldwide Digital Media, interviewed by Richard Sarnoff.

The day will end with an Honors Award luncheon presented to the National Book Critics Circle and accepted by John Freeman, President.
