NEW YORK, NY/ AUTHORLINK NEWS/October 6, 2011–Simon & Schuster today announced the launch of a new Facebook fan page, Something to Read About: The S&S Book Club. This new page is designed to enhance readers experience with books and authors by featuring a variety of activities and events including a spotlight Book-of-the-Month title, moderated conversations about favorite books, a listing of authors from all Simon & Schusters imprints who are available to call into reading groups, favorite book club selections, and daily updates. Fans of the page will also have direct access to videos, photos, a book-specific discussion forum, and excerpts as well as opportunities to interact with some authors and enter contests for free books.
The first S&S Book Club event will be a discussion of Jaycee Dugards bestselling memoir A STOLEN LIFE on Wednesday, October 12 from 1-4 pm EST. Readers and fans of the book can gather for a conversation led by a Simon & Schuster moderator. Dugard is not participating in the discussion.

In her stark, compelling narrative, she opens up about what she experienced, including the birth of her two children, and how she feels since she was found. Dugard also reads the unabridged audio book herself, published by S&S Audio. Simon & Schuster has gone back to press 17 times for a current total of more than 1.2 million copies in circulation (combined print, eBook, and audiobooks).
Each month Something to Read About will feature a different Book-of-the-Month. Alice Hoffmans epic new novel, THE DOVEKEEPERS, set during the siege of Masada in 70 C.E. is the October Book-of-the-Month, and Jodi Picoults bestselling novel, SING YOU HOME, available in trade paper later this month, will be the November selection.
