Norman Mailer
To Publish Another
Novel After 10 Years
NEW YORK, NY/8/28/06—Pulitzer Prize-winning author Norman Mailer will publish his first new novel in ten years, it was announced by publisher Random House. The work, titled The Castle in the Forest, will be released in January 2007. No other details were available about the story.
Mailer was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for The Executioner’s Song, a true story based on Utah murderer Gary Gilmore published in 1979 by Little Brown & Co.
A nonfiction book by Mailer, Armies of the Night (1968), about the anti-Vietnam War march on the Pentagon, was awarded both the Pulitzer and the National Book Award.
Mailer’s last novel was The Gospel According to the Son, the gospel story retold from Christ’s point of view, which was released by Random House in April 1997.
He has written or co-authored a number of other books, mostly nonfiction.
