20 to 30 new titles

for release in 2004 Octopus Acquires Mind, Body, Spirit

LONDON/10/08/03—UK-based Octopus Publishing Group has acquired Godsfield Press, a mind, body, spirit publisher founded and managed by Debbie Thorpe, who will stay on through the transition period as a consultant. Octopus will appoint a new editorial director for the list, which includes 70 active titles, ranging from mind, body, and spirit to health and religion.

Octopus CEO Derek Freeman said Godsfield not only has a strong list of super titles, but has formidable sales in both the U.S. and the UK. Alison Goff, managing director of Hamlyn, Bounty and Cassell will oversee the Godsfield unit.

Godsfield plans 20 to 30 new titles for release in 2004. LBS will become the new distributor.
