Youtube Video Trailer
For Kenyon's Acheron
Draws Huge Viewership
NEW YORK, NY/8/7/2008–A video trailer for Sherrilyn Kenyon's Acheron, the newest release in the Dark Hunter series, climbed on Tuesday of this week to 183,374 viewers on YouTube, making it among the most viewed videos on the outrageously popular video site. The trailer, posted about two weeks ago, had already been viewed by more than 100,000 people after being posted only a day. The paranormal romance was released by St. Martins' Press on August 5 and has an initial print run of 350,000 copies.
The 33-second trailer was produced in Hollywood under the guidance of author Kenyon and St. Martins. The clip drew more than 100 comments from fans. One said, "I am so in love with this series it is not even funny." Another said: "I can't wait for this book. I've been having Dark Hunter withdrawals since I finished the last book. Now, I'm a guy, so I can't comment on if this guy is 'hot' or whatever, but I do actually think that a DH movie might turn out good, as long Sherrilyn Kenyon is at the helm."
St. Martin's has been heavily publicizing the work. The publisher launched its marketing campaign with an e-mail blast to 90,000 people, and offers such items as the Ultimate Dark-Hunter Quiz on Facebook, as well as e-book giveaways on the book's official web site.
Sherrilyn Kenyon is a #1 New York Times bestselling author with more than fourteen million copies of her books in print, in twenty-eight countries. Writing as both Sherrilyn Kenyon and Kinley MacGregor, she is an international phenomenon and author of several other series including: Dark-Hunters, The League, Brotherhood of the Sword, Lords of Avalon, and the forthcoming Nevermore.
Her latest book, Acheron, is about a god cursed into the body of a human, whose human death "unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Brought back against his will, he became the sole defender of mankind."
