SCORE Founder
Lands Book Deal
With Adams Media

NEW YORK, NY/6/5/06—Adams Media has signed a contract with educator Sharon Marshall Lockett to publish her book Home Sweet Homework: A Parent’s Guide to Stress Free Homework and Study Strategies That Work, a guide for parents of children in grades K-12. The book was selected from among 500 submissions in Adams Media’s Author 101 Get Published, Get Publicized contest. The book, for which Lockett is being paid an advance, also has a publicity budget of $20,000. The title will be released in July 2007.

Adams publisher Gary Krebs said the author had researched the market and her competition and can provide a broad marketing and public relations platform to drive sales.

Pleased with the results of this year’s contest, Adams Media plans to hold the competition again next year. Rick Frishman, president of Planned Television Arts, and Robyn Freedman Spizman, co-author with Frishman of the Adams writing series, Author 101, chose the winning proposal. They also provided funds for the publicity budget.
