Beck’s Book to Solve

World’s Big Problems

NEW YORK, NY/4/2/07–Louise Burke, Pocket Books’ Executive Vice President and Publisher, has announced the acquisition of world rights to a new book by Glenn Beck, CNN Headline News and radio talk-show host, New York Times bestselling author, and recently appointed Good Morning America contributor. AN INCONVENIENT BOOK: Real Solutions to the World’s Biggest Problems will be published in hardcover under the Threshold Editions imprint in Fall 2007.

Glenn Beck hosts the third most listened to radio talk show in all of America, and his primetime television show on Headline News was 2006’s fastest-growing show in cable news. AN INCONVENIENT BOOK will showcase Beck’s unique fusion of entertainment and enlightenment as it seeks to offer common sense solutions to everything from agreeing on what movie to see with your wife to ending the illegal immigration crisis. Other problems Beck will address range from global warming, and the United Nations, to blind dates and dieting “If the earth has a fever, Glenn Beck has the antidote,” said Louise Burke. “We anxiously await his solutions to all of the world’s problems.”

“The world has been struggling for over a millennium with some of these problems, and I can’t wait to solve all of them in under 400 pages.” said Glenn Beck. “I’m looking forward to collaborating once again with the great team at Pocket Books.”

Senior Editor Mitchell Ivers will edit the book, which will mark the second project on which author and editor have collaborated. Glenn Beck’s longtime agent, George Hiltzik, brokered the deal.
