Quadrille Publishing
Enters U.S. Market
With Its Own Imprint

NEW YORK/LONDON/10/10/06—The U.K.’s Quadrille Publishing will enter the U.S. market with its own releases in late 2006 or early 2007. The company, founded in 1994, has been successful in publishing co-editions of a number of titles through Rizzoli, Clarkson Potter, and Chronicle. New titles for the American market will now be published under its own Quadrille imprint.

Quadrille, with annual book sales of about $15 million, will not open offices in the U.S. Instead they will edit titles for the American market from their headquarters in the U.K. Ingram Publishers Services will handle U.S. bookstore sales and distribution. The Rosen Group, an arts marketing and publishing agency located in New York City, will oversee public relations. Philadelphia-based consultant Keith Ashfield will help position the company in the US marketplace. A rep firm has been hired to sell Quadrille’s titles to the gift market.

Quadrille specializes in cooking, gardening, interior design, and mind/body/spirit titles. First titles to be released in America include The Really Useful Guide to Red Wine, Decorating Easy: Create a Simple, Comfortable Home with Pure Style, Heal Yourself with Flowers and Other Essences.

Macmillan Distribution Ltd distributes Quadrille titles in the U.K. Quadrille’s website is located at http://www.quadrille.co.uk/
