Penguin Names New Publishing Manager

Matthew Boyd has been named Publishing Manager and Manager of Special Marketing Initiatives for Penguin Group (USA), it was announced by Susan Petersen Kennedy, President of Penguin Group (USA).

Boyd was previously Publishing Coordinator, a position he had held since 2009, focusing on marketing Penguin both internally and externally as well as forging partnerships with outside companies, including negotiating with NBC to use their archival footage in Penguin amplified eBooks, working with NetGalley to create fully-protected electronic galleys, and launching an online book club and writers conference with BlogHer.com. He has also worked closely with Penguin’s publishers and is often called on to negotiate with agents on behalf of the publishers if multiple imprints are interested in the same proposal

In his new role, Boyd will continue to look for innovative ways to promote Penguin’s books, processes to better communicate information between imprints and departments, and partnerships to help Penguin Group (USA) reach new audiences.
