Novelist and award-winning children’s book author Daniel Handler will host the 65th National Book Awards Ceremony on November 19. Handler joins the illustrious company of Fran Lebowitz, Steve Martin, Faith Salie, Garrison Keillor, and many other distinctive voices of American literature who have served as Master of Ceremonies of the National Book Awards. “Daniel Handler is witty, charming, and one of the best writers in America,” says Foundation Executive Director Harold Augenbraum. “We are looking forward to a wonderful National Book Awards evening this year with him as host.”

 

Important Award Dates:

  • July 1: Books due to NBA Judges and NBF office. 
  • September 10: NBA Longlist announcement.
  • October 15: Finalists announcement.

November 19: NBA Ceremony and Benefit Dinner. (Winners announced.)
