Crain’s Tracks New York Job Losses

CrainsNewYork.com, which provides monthly updates on the number of jobs lost in New York City since the peak of August 2008, shows that as of December 22, 2009, 139,827 jobs have been lost, and only 10,700 jobs were gained in the private sector in November. The jobs meter draws on Eastern Consolidated’s seasonally adjusted analysis of New York Department of Labor monthly statistics.

The latest job losses occurred at the Princeton Review, where 35 employees have been laid off.
