Conservative Book

Club Acquires

American Compass

WASHINGTON, DC/9/11/07–The Conservative Book Club, which has specialized in conservative books for its members for 40 years, has acquired The American Compass Book Club for an undisclosed sum. American Compass had been among clubs to be closed by Bookspan until its acquisition. The resulting club, to be operated as Conservative Book Club, will more than double Conservative’s membership to 100,000.

The Conservative Book Club is owned by Eagle Publishing, a leader in public-policy publishing. Among its imprints is Regnery Publishing. Heading Eagle’s management team are Chairman Thomas L. Phillips and President Jeffrey J. Carneal. Eagle Vice President Stuart Richens will manage the newly-expanded Conservative Book Club.

A newly merged membership marketing program begins in late September. Among forthcoming new titles to be offered to the combined club are Ann Coulter’s If Democrats Had Any Brains They Would Be Republicans (Crown Forum), and The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Bible, part of Regnery’s Politically Incorrect Guide series.
