Children’s Book

Council Names

New Director

NEW YORK, NY/8/28/06—The Children’s Book Council Inc., nonprofit trade association of publishers and packagers of trade books for children and young adults, has named Robin Adelson as the new executive director. She will leave her job as associate general counsel with Primedia to join the CBC on September 18. She succeeds Paula Quint who retired earlier this year after some 40 years with the CBC.

Adelson will be challenged with leading the organization forward in a changing market and with balancing its dual roles as a strong trade group for children’s publishers and as an effective literacy organization.

Simon Boughton, publisher of Roaring Brook Press, chairman of the CBC board of directors, made the announcement.
