Association Makes
Top Staff Changes

NEW YORK, NY/11/3/07–The American Booksellers Association has made several top-level staff changes, according to an item in Publishers Weekly. Len Vlahos, a 15-year veteran of the organization and manager of the ABA’s education program, has been promoted to chief program officer. He will continue to oversee BookSense.com, but will turn over daily operations to the company’s webmaster, Ricky Leung.

In other staff changes, Meg Zelickson Smith has become chief marketing officer, overseeing all of the ABA’s marketing. She will continue to manage the bookstore bestseller list. She has been with the company since 1999.

Dan Cullen will now oversee editorial content as senior director, and Mark Nichols will be senior director of publisher initiates. Jeff Wexler will be the senior in charge of IT, and Jill Perlstein will direct member services. Kristen Gilligan has been named director of meetings and events.
