Writers Paradise for All: The 35th Annual Central Coast Writers Conference Explores Craft, Connection, Courage, Culinary Delights and even Downward Dog

San Luis Obispo, Calif. —Named the “Best Conference in the West” in 2019 by The Writer magazine, the 35th Annual Central Coast Writers Conference (CCWC) takes place at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, September 26-28, 2019. Lodging and activities are also planned in the picturesque seaside community of Morro Bay.

Forty presenters will offer 112 classes in beginning writing, poetry, memoir, novels, non-fiction, screenwriting, childrens and young adult, marketing, publishing and agents. Private critiques and one-on-one “pitch honing” sessions will be available along with networking events and three distinct keynotes to inspire all attendees.

“We’ve decided to shoot even higher for 2019,” stated Teri Bayus, Director of the Central Coast Writers Conference. “We’re keeping what works while also offering exceptional new opportunities. No matter where you are in your writing career, every single person who attends this conference will enter feeling welcome and leave prepared to take their writing to the next level.”

After selling out 2018’s Master Classes three more classes have been added for a total of nine this year. These six-hour immersive classes are designed to have a finished product at the end and a faculty mentor and supportive “scribe tribe” post-conference. Topics include: novel writing, memoir, poetry, young adult, e-book publishing, and making a living off of your book.

One of this year’s Master Class instructors is Emmy and Peabody award-winning producer and writer, Peter Dunne. He brings three decades of Hollywood experience in script development, writing, and producing. Peter has produced and/or written are such classics as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Melrose Place, Savannah, Police Story, Dallas, Knots Landing, Eight is Enough, JAG, Nowhere Man, Dr.Quinn: Medicine Woman, and the mini-series Sybil.

“Every single one of the attendees I spoke with last year (and that had to be close to a hundred) praised this conference. Many who have attended a lot of conferences said CCWC was head and shoulders above the rest. And I couldn’t agree more. Not only for the quality of the faculty, but for the comfort of the community,” said Dunne, who has taught at CCWC the past four years.

Attendees will even be able to push through those afternoon energy dips with three different forms of yoga offered during breaks on the campus lawn. One instructor will focus on stretching, one on movement, and the last on poetry and poses.

The conference will wrap up just in time to make it to the Morro Bay Embarcadero, grab a glass of wine and a bite to eat, and watch the sunset over the bay next to the renowned landmark, Morro Rock.

Registration begins at $300 and includes three keynotes, all workshops, wine and appetizer reception, two lunches and one personal critique session. Register: www.CentralCoastWritersConference.com.
