More Key Personnel
Changes Take Place
At Doubleday, Putnam
NEW YORK, NY/6/29/07- G.P. Putnam and Doubleday Broadway and have been added to the list of major New York publishers who have made key personnel changes this summer in both editorial and marketing departments.
Amy Einhorn, editor-in-chief of hardcover books at Grand Central Publishing (formerly Warner), is leaving her post of several years to join G.P. Putnam at Penguin, where she will have her own imprint, Amy Einhorn Books. She will join the Penguin group July 9 and will release her first list in fall 2008. The Einhorn imprint will include fiction, commercial fiction and narrative nonfiction. Her new role was announced by G. P. Putnam president Ivan Held.
Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group at Random House has promoted Suzanne Hertz to executive director of marketing where she will oversee marketing for all imprints while continuing as publisher of her own imprint flying Dolphin Press. Hertz replaces Jackie Everly, senior vice president and associate publisher and executive director of marketing for the division. Everly had been with the company for 30 years. The changes were announced by Doubleday head Steve Rubin. Reporting to Suzanne Hertz will be marketing and advertising directors of all division imprints. Hertz now reports to Steve Rubin, along with John Fontana, senior vice president and creative director.
Other key editorial personnel changes (Authorlink, 6/14/2007) have taken place in recent weeks at three top New York publishing houses, including Random House, HarperCollins, and Penguin Press. The Penguin Press has named Eamon Dolan editor-in-chief effective July 9. He comes from his post as editor-in-chief of Houghton Mifflin. Publicity and marketing job changes were also announced at HarperCollins Canada. Random House Publishing Groups senior vice president and executive editor-in-chief , Dan Menaker is stepping down to turn to his own writing and editorial work. HarperCollins has named Steve Ross president and publisher of HarperCollins's Collins U.S. division. He joins HC from his position as senior vice president and publisher Crown, a division of Random House.
