IPS to represent
Graphic Arts Center
12/6/07–Graphic Arts Center Publishing Company (Graphic Arts) announced that effective January 1,2008, it will be expanding its agreement with Ingram Publisher Services (IPS) to include sales representation. Graphic Arts moved its back-end services for warehousing, order processing, and collections to IPS in February 2007.
Associate Publisher Douglas Pfeiffer said, "IPS’S three-season sales approach, the effectiveness of their sales reps, and the depth of their account base made this a logical decision. We can focus on expanding the front list for our three imprints- Graphic Arts Books, Alaska Northwest Books, and Westwinds Press-and give increased attention to marketing our books as well as those from our distributed publishers."
In a related move, Michael O. Campbell was named Director of Sales and Marketing for Graphic Arts effective December 1,2007. Mr. Campbell has been Corporate and Specialty Sales Manager at the company for the past two years. His prior experience includes Sales and Marketing Director for Timber Press and National Sales Director for Barron’s Educational Publishing as well as positions at HarperCollins, Workman Publishing, and Simon & Schuster.
Mr. Campbell will work directly with the IPS sales force to get the maximum benefit from their sales effort and Graphic Arts marketing programs. Mr. Campbell said, "Graphic Arts will continue its own specialty and corporate sales as well as provide trade and gift sales services. Sara Juday will continue to support Graphic Arts sales in Alaska as well as other Ingram Publisher Services clients."
Mike Hopkins, President of Graphic Arts, expressed pleasure that the relationship between Graphic Arts and Ingram continues to strengthen. The companies have worked together for many years. Currently Ingram has a minority investment in Graphic Arts.
