LOS ANGELES AND ALLENHURST NJ/05/10/04—BowTie Inc.—whose magazine division Fancy Publications is America’s largest publisher of pet magazines—has acquired Kennel Club Books. Kennel Club has a backlist of about 200 titles, mainly about dog breeding.

The Kennel Club unit will remain located in Allenhurst, N.J., but will work in cooperation with BowTie Press, based at the parent company’s Los Angeles headquarters. BowTie Press, the book division of Fancy Publications, has a list of about 100 titles in print.

Fancy Publications, Inc. publishes an extensive line of award-winning pet and animal, veterinary trade, and lifestyle magazines.

The company expects to make other acquisitions and will announce another one next week, according to BowTie chairman Norman Ridker.
