Thanks to everyone who attended our sold-out November event! A highlight video will be forthcoming in the next few days, so watch this space!

Meet David Ritz, a New York City native who spent some early years in Texas. He is the author of more than 50 books, and a Grammy Award winner. David is the only four-time winner of the Gleason Music Book Award. He won the 2013 ASCAP Timothy White Award for outstanding musical biography for When I Left Home, written with Buddy Guy. He has collaborated with Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, B.B. King, Etta James, and Smokey Robinson.

In addition to his work as a co-author of autobiographies for a range of entertainers from Ray Charles to Don Rickles and Willie Nelson, he has written lyrics (“Sexual Healing“), novels (Search for Happiness), profiles (“Stevie Wonder: Never Ending Song of Peace” in Rolling Stone), critical essays (“Robin Thicke, You’re No Marvin Gaye” in Rolling Stone) and more than a hundred liner notes for artists such as Michael Jackson, Sammy Davis, Jr.Sarah Vaughan and Nat Cole. Come, hear his successes and crashes, hopes and dreams. Get to know the guy who has been so close to the entertainers we know and love.
