Hernany Perla,  who recently sold the blacklist script BLINK to Atlast Independent along with Revelations to Lotus Entertainment, has signed on as screenwriter to adapt the forthcoming Fall 2015 hostage-suspense novel TORTURE MAN by bestselling author Warren Adler.

Adler is best known for his iconic novel turned box-office hit “The War of the Roses“ starring Kathleen Turner, Michael Douglas, and Danny DeVito.

“Hernany creates scripts that combine great suspense with intelligent themes, making him the ideal choice for this hot button thriller,” says Michael Adler, Head of Development for Grey Eagle Films.

TORTURE MAN follows Former CIA operative Carl Hellmann and prominent anti-war activist Sarah Raab, fierce opponents on the war on terrorism and practice of torture. Carl has dedicated his life to the unconditional service of his country, while Sarah relentlessly strives to uphold the conscience of her nation. Their lives become inextricably joined when Sarah is at the mercy of Carl’s interrogation skills to rescue her 11-year old daughter Rachel, who is kidnapped by Islamist terrorists for a 10 million dollar ransom.
