The 2016 New York Book Festival will host a daytime book publishing seminar and its annual awards ceremony on Saturday, June 18 at the famed Algonquin Hotel, marking a return to the literary landmark.

The awards deadline arrives May 25 for entries to the annual event honoring books that deserve greater recognition from the world’s publishing capital.

The day seminar will be held from noon to 5 p.m. in the Oak Room at the Algonquin, with the awards ceremony at 6 p.m. The day seminar is free and open to the public. The awards require a ticket.

The 2016 New York Book Festival will consider published, self-published and independent publisher non-fiction, fiction, children’s books, young adult, how-to, poetry, wild card (anything goes!), unpublished stories, science fiction, horror, photography/art, romance and biography/autobiography works.

If you would be interested in speaking at the event, send a note to NewYorkBookFest@aol.com with “speaker submission” in the subject line. Please note that we are mostly interested in panel participants, not solo presenters.
